Abstract:
This paper examines the effect that work–from–home policies in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic have had on bid rent home prices in Fairfax County, Virginia. Through publicly available data provided by Fairfax County, the statistical analysis provides insight into the changes in housing preferences observed in the wake of the work–from–home revolution during the COVID-19 pandemic. This study shows that there has been little change in the magnitude of the slope of the bid rent curve for the post-pandemic period of 2021–2024 when compared to the pre-pandemic period of 2015-2019.
